I decided I would have some fun this week and go old school and do a Pac-Man nail art design. I’ve said before I’m no artist so I’m sure you’re nails are going to look really great.

For this nail art I used the following polishes:

L.A. Colors Art Deco Black

L.A. Colors Art Deco Baby Pink

Sally Hanson Mellow Yellow

N.Y.C. Little Italy (white)

N.Y.C. Big Apple Red Creme

N.Y.C. Long Wearing Clear

some random orange my daughter had

You’ll want to start with the clear coat as a base as always, especially since dark colors like black can stain your nails. After that dries apply the black polish to the whole nail and let dry.

Next you’ll use the white polish to make the dots and the beginnings of the ghosts. For the dots I put a small glob of white polish on a piece of paper, dip the tip of a toothpick in it and lightly press it on your nails to make the dots. You might want to do a couple of test dots on your paper.

Then pick a couple of nails that you want the ghosts on. Make sure your brush isn’t too loaded with polish you just need a light coat of polish in your ghost shape. The reason for this step is that it’s difficult to cover black with a color so we’re just giving the colors a nice base to work with.

Once that is dry fill in the ghosts with the different colors.

Now it’s time for Pac-Man I simply loaded the brush with yellow and lightly dropped it on my nail to get a nice circle shape.

While your yellow circle is drying get out the tooth pick again to make the eyes on the ghosts, go back over with the black making a smaller dot of black inside the white.

Now that Pac-Man should be dry take the black polish (the one I used has a small brush) with a small brush paint the triangle mouth. You may use your small brush to toothpick tip to make his eye.

Finish with a clear coat.

Here a a simple nail design that is made easy by using Sharpie markers for better control of your nail design. I’m a stick figure artist and this was easy for me to do so, if you have any artistic ability this should be a breeze!

Here’s a list of supplies you’ll need:

clear coat nail polish

white nail polish

Sharpie markers in green, light green, pink, magenta, purple, orange and yellow

Now that you have your supplies here is your step by step lesson.

polish your all of your nails with clear coat and let dry

polish all of your nails lightly with white nail polish I recommend only one coat (for this tutorial we used NYC Little Italy) let your nails dry thoroughly.

in the upper corners of your nails use the orange marker to make a quarter sun (this does not have to be perfect at all as we are going to make is smear!) just below the orange draw a line of yellow.

using the clear coat polish gently apply just to the upper part of the nail this will cause the marker to smear and give a soft sun look, let your nails dry again

now with your green markers free hand some vines down in the opposite corner of the nail from the sun use your pink, purple and magenta markers to make little dots for flowers

if you choose to use a top coat at this point you must gently pat it on the vines or they will smear!! Let the patted on clear dry and then finish with another coat of clear.

How to make cool happy face fingernails tutorial.

What you need for smiley happy face fingernails.

base coat

bright yellow nail polish (We used Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow.)

black Sharpie marker

red Sharpie marker

top coat

Start with your base coat. Then polish with the yellow, you may need two coats depending on the coverage. Once your polish is totally dry it’s time to draw on some happy faces with your black marker. I used the red marker to make a couple of tongues sticking out.

Once you are done drawing the faces you need to use the top coat. It’s very important that you barely pat on the clear top coat. If you polish as normal the marker with smear. Once that is dry it’s safe to add one more coat of the clear as you normally would.

Have a happy day!
